Aminoglycosides

Streptomycin is the oldest representative of the group of aminoglycosides (oligosacchaĀ­ride antibiotics). Typical applications of Streptomycin may lead to residues in food like honey and kidneys. As part of the national residue monitoring plan (NRKP) all samples which were tested positive with an inhibitor test are analysed for aminoglycosides.

At GALAB, streptomycin and other aminoglycosides, such as gentamycin and neomycin, are determined with immunological ELISA tests to obtain sensitive and reliable results.
