Celery
Frequently Pollen Associated AllergiesCelery is one of the most common food allergens for adults. Manifold use in processed products as a flavouring ingredient leads to a considerable risk for allergic people. Additionally, there are cross reactions of celery with other fruits and vegetables. Pollen associated celery allergies frequently occur in people allergic to mugwort and birch pollen. Only some celery allergens are thermally instable, so that even cooked products cannot be tolerated by allergic persons.
DNA Analysis
Currently there are no ELISA methods available for the specific determination of celery. For the detection of celery a specific and sensitive real time PCR is used at GALAB. The application of hybridisation probes allows for confirmation directly in the PCR – maximum safety for your samples.
