Perchlorate: Updated Interim Levels

Effective of 1th July 2015, the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health (SCoFCAH) has modified interim levels for residues of perchlorate in dried herbal and fruit infusions. The interim level was lowered from 1.0 mg/kg to 0.75 mg/kg.

In addition, the EU committee has published a recommendation on the monitoring of the presence of perchlorate in fruits, vegetables, juices, food for infants and young children, herbs, spices and tea as well as beverages and drinking water, to collect further data on occurrence of perchlorate in food.
