With a monitoring programme, the EU would like to collect further data on the presence of tropane alkaloids in food. The member states should therefore – with active participation of food companies – focus on the analysis of cereals (buckwheat, sorghum, millet, maize and their flours), baby and infant foods based on cereals, breakfast cereals, as well as gluten-free products, food supplements, teas, herbal infusions and pulses.
