AffiSep® Technology |
The GALAB AffiSep-Technology has been developed especially for the isolation and characterization of glycoproteins at a high purity, and with a defined structure and conserved biological activity which is indispensable for their investigation and application.
Our affinity columns are based on innovative lectin adsorbents (AffiSep). Lectins are immobilized covalently onto macroporous synthetic polymer particles which are particularly designed for HPLC applications and process purifications. Our adsorbents provide many advantages over agarose based materials as there are much better mechanical, chemical and microbiological stability. Prepacked affinity columns can be operated in analytical and preparative dimensions up to bench scale and process purifications.
Lectin affinity separation provides a powerful technique for purification of oligosaccharides, glycoproteins and other glycoconjugates. The high specificity for defined carbohydrate structures facilitates a high resolution and thus an excellent purification of the desired compounds.
