Description
Lectin affinity separation allows mild, biocompatible conditions for the isolation of glycosylated targets which can be purified with high specificity and preserved biological activity. The hydrophilic, polymer-based adsorbents provide many advantages compared to conventional agarose based gels, as there are a very good separation performance and much better chemical, mechanical and microbiological stability. The material is macroporous (pore size: 1000 Å) and the mean particle size is 75 µm.
AffiSep adsorbents are designed especially for preparative applications but can also be used for protein separations in an analytical scale. The particle material and the ligand are extremely robust and allow a variety of buffer conditions dependent on the lectins compatibility. The high ligand density on the particle surface results in a high binding capacity and very good separation performance of glycoproteins.
